Distribution Manager (m/f), Palmerston North in Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
Your tasks:
- Manages Inventory Control, reference standards and publication shipping storage groups
- Manages all vendor relationships including shipping carriers
- Provides recommendations for improvement and ensures inventory accuracy including adjusting inventory for breakage, obsolete, and cycle counts items as needed to remain leader in industry standards
- Ensures that all fulfillment functions are properly recorded in ERP system and that accuracy of the inventory is correct
- Manages warehouse operations for efficiency of storage and workflow distribution, and ensures a safe warehouseworking environment
- Develop and implement recommendations for preventing reoccurrences and ensure that all affected parties/departments are appropriately involved such as accounting
- Analyzes overall performance of group and makes recommendations for improvement to increase employee productive orcreate cost saving steps for the department
- Manages all human resource elements including the recruitment, selection, appraising, training and development of employees in collaboration with human resource department
- Establishes appropriate qualitative and quantitative metrics for productivity on shipments, receipt and distribution and measures progress
- Monitors controlled substances: pulls substances for order fulfillment
Your skills:
- Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be proficient in the use of computer software
- Dynamic, proven leader with the ability to effectively motivate staff
- 5 years relevant experience in distribution and inventory control
- Knowledge of sound principles of supervision
- Coaching and feedback, motivating teams, handling conflict, and driving performance for results
- Must possess ability to handle multiple prioritiesin a fast-paced environment
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent years of education and experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience of a distribution team required
- Must possess strong problem solving skills
